I looked into our list of options when my wife and I were automating our home. There are many smart locks available that could offer improved security and work well without keys. However, I didn’t want to take up a completely password-based smart lock system. Sometimes I forget my passwords, regardless of how simple they may appear. I blame it on my old age. In order to avoid this, I often store passwords on my phone. I had no problems getting into my home until I couldn’t remember my pin codes and had no access to my phone. After staying locked out for a whole weekend, I decided to find a smart lock that also featured key access.
